Webinar recording: Reusable packaging systems – Opportunities in Latin American cities (PT and ES)
ICLEI invites you to rewatch our webinar “Reusable packaging systems – Opportunities in Latin American cities (in Portuguese/Spanish)”.
About:
Waste management in Latin American cities is a growing problem, exacerbated by the widespread use of single-use containers and packaging. The implementation of packaging reuse systems aims to reduce waste, protect the environment and preserve its maximum economic value for as long as possible.
This was the theme of the event “Reusable Packaging Systems: Opportunities in Latin American Cities,” which took place on 10 September 2024 and was led by ICLEI’s Circular Development Analyst, Ana Barbara Zanella. The webinar explored the opportunities for transition to a circular economy model that prioritizes the reuse of packaging as a city strategy and was promoted by ICLEI as part of the “Circular City Labs – Testing reusable packaging systems in cities” (CCL) project. The event was attended by the following organizations and representatives: Alejandro Gonzalez, Executive Director at ICLEI Colombia; Camilo Herrera Peña, Project Advisor at GIZ Colombia; Carlos Alberto Velásquez López, Undersecretary of Environmental Management of the Secretariat of Environment of the City of Medellín; Ana María Villegas, CEO and Co-Founder of the company Xiclo; and María Alejandra Palacio, CCL project Coordinator at ICLEI Colombia.
