ICLEI and RUAF launched the ICLEI-RUAF CITYFOOD Network – Cities and Regions for resilient food systems in 2013 to facilitate exchange and peer-to-peer learning among local governments that are committed to transitioning to sustainable food systems. The Network encompasses 30 local and regional governments from all world regions, whether they are engaging with food for the first time or leading the way towards innovative food systems.

The Global Lead City Network (GLCN) on Sustainable Procurement is a group of 15 cities driving a transition to sustainable consumption and production by implementing sustainable and innovative procurement strategies.

The Urban Transitions Alliance (UTA) is an initiative led by ICLEI and funded by Stiftung Mercator that presents an opportunity for industrial legacy cities across the world to share knowledge, discover new solutions, and better navigate their sustainable urban transitions.

The Green Circular Cities Coalition, launched by ICLEI in 2019, is a platform that helps local governments foster low carbon and circular development transitions by bringing cities, experts, and businesses together for experience exchange and mutual learning.

Procura+ is an ICLEI-coordinated initiative that brings together a network of European public authorities and regions to exchange and take action in the realm of sustainable procurement.

The European Circular Cities Declaration is designed to accelerate Europe’s transition from a linear to a circular economy, and thereby create a resource-efficient, low-carbon, and socially responsible society. The Declaration was developed by a broad partnership of stakeholders to ensure that its vision and commitments are ambitious, achievable, and reflect the needs of all.
